Amisto, a new high-end Mexican dining establishment, is preparing to open its doors in the heart of Downtown. The restaurant aims to bring an elevated take on traditional Mexican cuisine to the area, with a focus on fresh ingredients and modern culinary techniques.
The restaurant’s management has announced that Amisto will be located at 415 Main Street, occupying the ground floor of the recently renovated historic building. The opening is scheduled for late July, according to statements from the owners.
Menu and Culinary Vision
Amisto’s menu will feature a variety of classic Mexican dishes, reimagined with contemporary presentations. Chef Luis Hernandez, who previously worked at several acclaimed restaurants in Mexico City and Los Angeles, will lead the kitchen. “We want to showcase the depth and diversity of Mexican cuisine, using both local and imported ingredients,” Hernandez said.
Signature offerings will include house-made tortillas, ceviche, and a rotating selection of regional specialties. The restaurant will also offer an extensive tequila and mezcal program, curated by beverage director Sofia Ramirez.
Design and Atmosphere
The interior of Amisto has been designed to reflect a blend of modern elegance and traditional Mexican motifs. The dining room will feature handcrafted tilework, custom lighting, and artwork by local artists. Seating will accommodate up to 80 guests, with additional space available on a seasonal outdoor patio.
Community Impact and Hiring
Amisto’s owners have stated their commitment to supporting the local community by sourcing produce from nearby farms and hiring staff from the surrounding area. The restaurant is currently accepting applications for front-of-house and kitchen positions.
Opening Details
The official opening date for Amisto is set for July 28, with reservations available beginning July 1. The restaurant will operate for dinner service Tuesday through Sunday, with plans to add lunch hours in the fall.
