The upcoming Explora III, the latest vessel from Explora Journeys, is set to commence its inaugural season in 2026, offering a range of itineraries that include Northern Europe, eclipse-themed cruises, and ocean crossings.
Inaugural Season Destinations
Explora III will begin its first voyages in Northern Europe, visiting destinations such as Iceland, Greenland, and the British Isles. The ship’s maiden journey is scheduled to depart from Hamburg, Germany, on June 10, 2026, and will conclude in Reykjavik, Iceland, on June 21, 2026.
Following this, the vessel will embark on a series of cruises exploring the Norwegian fjords, the North Cape, and the Baltic Sea. Additional itineraries will include visits to Scotland, Ireland, and the Faroe Islands.
Eclipse Cruises and Ocean Crossings
Among the highlights of Explora III’s first season is a special cruise designed to coincide with the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026. This voyage will depart from Reykjavik and sail to Greenland, providing guests the opportunity to witness the eclipse from a unique vantage point.
The ship will also offer transatlantic crossings, including a journey from Reykjavik to New York, and another from New York to Quebec City. These ocean crossings are scheduled for late summer and early autumn of 2026.
