Viking has revealed plans for two new itineraries in 2030 that will feature the Oberammergau Passion Play, a performance held every ten years in the Bavarian village of Oberammergau, Germany. The company announced that these voyages will allow guests to experience the historic play, which has been performed since 1634.
Details of the New Itineraries
The two new journeys, “Oberammergau, the Alps & the Rhine” and “Oberammergau & Danube Waltz,” are scheduled for 2030. Both itineraries will include tickets to the Passion Play, as well as guided tours in the region. Viking stated that these voyages are designed to provide cultural experiences in addition to the play itself.

The play is performed by local residents and attracts visitors from around the world. Viking previously offered similar itineraries in 2022, which reportedly sold out quickly.

According to Viking, reservations for the 2030 Oberammergau voyages are now open. The company indicated that demand for the event is typically high, and that the new itineraries are expected to be popular among travelers interested in cultural and historical experiences.
