Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has revealed plans to introduce three new river cruise ships in 2028, expanding its fleet with vessels designed for the Nile, Mekong, and Europe’s Douro River.
Expansion to Key Destinations
The company stated that the new ships will be constructed specifically for their respective regions. The vessel for Egypt will operate on the Nile, the ship for Southeast Asia will sail the Mekong, and the third will be deployed on Portugal’s Douro River. Uniworld noted that these additions are part of its ongoing strategy to enhance its luxury river cruise offerings worldwide.

President and CEO Ellen Bettridge commented, “We are thrilled to announce the addition of three new ships to our fleet, each custom-built to deliver the highest standards of luxury and comfort for our guests.” She added that the new vessels will incorporate the latest in design and technology to provide an elevated experience for travelers.
Fleet Modernization Efforts
Uniworld emphasized that the new ships are part of a broader initiative to modernize its fleet. The company has previously launched several new vessels in recent years, including the S.S. Victoria and S.S. Elisabeth in Europe. The upcoming ships are expected to feature signature Uniworld amenities, personalized service, and regionally inspired décor.

The three new ships are scheduled to enter service in 2028. Uniworld stated that further details regarding ship names, itineraries, and onboard features will be announced at a later date.
