JSX has revealed plans to introduce nonstop flights connecting Santa Monica and Oakland, with service scheduled to commence in September. This expansion marks an addition to JSX’s existing offerings at Santa Monica Airport, where the carrier already operates flights to Las Vegas and Reno-Tahoe.
Details of the New Route
The new route will provide direct service between Santa Monica Airport and Oakland International Airport, with flights set to begin on September 12. JSX will operate the route using its 30-seat Embraer jets. According to the company, tickets for the new service are now available for purchase.
Flight Schedule and Frequency
JSX plans to operate two roundtrip flights each weekday between Santa Monica and Oakland. On weekends, the carrier will offer one roundtrip flight per day. The airline states that the flight duration is approximately one hour.
Expansion of JSX’s Santa Monica Operations
With the addition of the Oakland route, JSX will serve three destinations from Santa Monica Airport. The airline began its Santa Monica operations earlier this year, launching flights to Las Vegas in April and to Reno-Tahoe in May.
JSX’s Statement
JSX CEO Alex Wilcox commented on the new service, stating, “We are excited to expand our schedule at Santa Monica Airport with the addition of Oakland, providing travelers with more convenient options for travel within California.”
