AmaWaterways has revealed plans to expand its river cruise fleet to more than 50 ships by the year 2032, marking the largest growth initiative in the company’s history.
Long-Term Expansion Strategy
The river cruise operator outlined its intention to increase its fleet from the current 29 ships to over 50 within the next eight years. This expansion will involve the introduction of new vessels and the deployment of ships on additional rivers across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
Upcoming Launches and Destinations
In 2024, AmaWaterways is set to debut two new ships: AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia, both of which will operate on Colombia’s Magdalena River. The company also plans to add AmaSintra and AmaKaia to its European and African fleets in 2025. AmaSintra will sail the Douro River in Portugal, while AmaKaia will join the line’s itineraries on the Chobe River in Africa.
