Regent Seven Seas Cruises has confirmed that it has placed an order for a fourth ship in its Prestige-class series. The company made the announcement on Thursday, stating that the new vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2029.
The upcoming ship will be constructed by Fincantieri, the Italian shipbuilding group that has previously built other vessels for Regent. According to Regent, the new ship will have a gross tonnage of 77,000 and will be able to accommodate up to 850 guests. The company noted that the vessel will feature the same high standards of luxury and service as its sister ships in the Prestige-class.
Jason Montague, President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, commented, “The addition of a fourth Prestige-class ship will allow us to meet the growing demand for luxury cruising and further strengthen our position in the market.” He added that the new vessel will incorporate the latest advancements in environmental technology.
The Prestige-class currently includes three ships: Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Splendor, and Seven Seas Grandeur. The new ship will join this fleet, expanding Regent’s capacity and offerings in the luxury cruise segment.
Fincantieri CEO Pierroberto Folgiero stated, “We are proud to continue our partnership with Regent Seven Seas Cruises and to contribute to the growth of its fleet with another state-of-the-art vessel.”
Additional details regarding the ship’s features, itineraries, and onboard amenities are expected to be released closer to the vessel’s launch date.
