Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill, located at Towson Town Center, will be closing its doors, adding to the list of recent departures from the mall. The restaurant, known for its steak and seafood offerings, has been a fixture at the shopping center for several years.
According to a statement from the company, the restaurant will cease operations on June 16. Employees were notified of the closure earlier this week. The company did not provide specific reasons for the decision to close the Towson location.
Stoney River is part of J. Alexander’s Holdings, a group that operates several upscale dining establishments across the United States. The Towson branch opened in 2016 and has served as a popular dining destination for shoppers and local residents.
The closure of Stoney River follows several other recent exits from Towson Town Center, including the departure of retailers such as Lord & Taylor and Williams-Sonoma. Mall representatives have not commented on the impact of these closures or on plans to fill the soon-to-be vacant restaurant space.
J. Alexander’s Holdings stated that staff members at the Towson location will be offered opportunities to transfer to other restaurants within the company where possible. The company expressed appreciation for the support from the Towson community over the years.
