Starlux Airlines has commenced a new nonstop service connecting Phoenix, Arizona, with Taipei, Taiwan. The inaugural flight departed from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Monday, marking the first direct route between the two cities.
The airline will operate the Phoenix-Taipei route three times per week, utilizing Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Flights are scheduled to depart Phoenix on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while return flights from Taipei will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Starlux CEO Glenn Chai stated that the new route aims to meet increasing demand for travel between the United States and Taiwan. “We are excited to launch this new service, which will provide travelers with greater convenience and more options,” Chai said during the launch event.
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego welcomed the new service, emphasizing its potential to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Phoenix and Taipei. “This direct flight will open doors for business, tourism, and educational exchanges,” Gallego commented.
According to airport officials, the addition of Starlux’s service is expected to generate significant economic benefits for the region. The Phoenix-Taipei route is projected to contribute millions of dollars annually to the local economy and support job creation at the airport and related industries.
Starlux Airlines, based in Taipei, was established in 2018 and has expanded its international network in recent years. The airline currently operates flights to several destinations in Asia and North America.
