A new Sichuan and dim sum dining establishment is scheduled to open within a high-end residential building located in Downtown Brooklyn.
The restaurant will occupy a ground-floor space at 196 Willoughby St., a luxury apartment tower developed by RXR Realty. The building, which stands 34 stories tall, began welcoming residents in 2023 and features 476 rental units.
According to RXR Realty, the restaurant will offer a menu focused on Sichuan cuisine and dim sum. The operator of the new venue has not yet been publicly named, and an opening date has not been announced.
“We are excited to bring a new culinary experience to our residents and the Downtown Brooklyn community,” said Joanne Minieri, executive vice president at RXR Realty. “This restaurant will complement the vibrant mix of amenities and retail offerings at 196 Willoughby.”
The restaurant will join other retail tenants at the property, including a grocery store and a fitness center. The building is situated near Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus and is within walking distance of several subway lines.
RXR Realty has stated that the addition of the Sichuan and dim sum restaurant aligns with its strategy to enhance the residential experience by providing diverse dining and retail options on-site.
