A director of a high-end Sydney restaurant has been taken into custody following allegations of involvement in a cocaine distribution network, with authorities seizing assets valued at $4 million.
Arrest and Investigation
Police arrested the 42-year-old man at his residence in Vaucluse on Wednesday morning. The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged drug syndicate operating in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The man is reportedly a director at a well-known luxury restaurant in the city.
According to police, the investigation began in late 2023 after officers received intelligence about the suspected supply of prohibited drugs in the area. Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad, with assistance from the Australian Federal Police, executed search warrants at several properties connected to the suspect.
Asset Seizure and Charges
During the searches, authorities confiscated assets including luxury vehicles, designer watches, and cash, with the total value estimated at $4 million. Police also reportedly found a quantity of cocaine and drug paraphernalia at the properties.
The man has been charged with multiple offenses, including supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and dealing with the proceeds of crime. He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
