Heckfield Place, a luxury hotel located in Hampshire, has unveiled its new pub concept named Workman’s Bar. The establishment is situated within the hotel’s Home Farm and aims to offer guests a traditional pub experience.
The Workman’s Bar is designed to reflect the heritage of the estate, drawing inspiration from the original Workman’s Hall that once served as a gathering place for estate workers. The venue features classic pub elements, including a wooden bar, open fireplace, and vintage décor, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional English public house.
The menu at Workman’s Bar focuses on seasonal dishes that utilize ingredients sourced from Heckfield Place’s own farm and gardens. Offerings include classic pub fare such as pies, roast meats, and locally brewed ales. The beverage selection highlights regional beers and ciders, as well as a curated list of wines and spirits.
Heckfield Place’s Managing Director, Olivia Richli, commented on the launch, stating, “We wanted to create a space that honors the estate’s history while providing a welcoming environment for both guests and the local community.” She added that the Workman’s Bar is intended to serve as a social hub, encouraging interaction among visitors and residents alike.
The pub will be open to hotel guests and the public, with opening hours aligned with traditional pub times. Reservations are recommended, particularly during weekends and peak periods.
