Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) reported that the blaze was well established when crews arrived at the scene. Despite efforts to contain the fire, the building was extensively damaged.
Lithium-Powered Cart Under Investigation
Authorities are focusing on a lithium-powered service cart as a potential source of the fire. A spokesperson said, “The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but a lithium-powered service cart is being looked at as a possible origin.”
