La Sponda, a new Italian restaurant located on Biscayne Bay, has opened its doors under the direction of the team behind Daniel’s Miami. The establishment aims to deliver high-quality pasta dishes, emphasizing traditional Italian techniques and fresh ingredients.
Situated at 1234 Biscayne Boulevard, La Sponda offers both indoor and outdoor seating with views of the waterfront. The restaurant’s interior design features Mediterranean-inspired décor, including terracotta tiles and olive trees, to evoke a coastal Italian atmosphere.
Menu Focuses on Classic Italian Fare
The menu at La Sponda centers around handmade pasta, with selections such as tagliatelle al tartufo and rigatoni alla Norma. Additional offerings include wood-fired pizzas, seafood dishes, and a variety of antipasti. The kitchen is overseen by Executive Chef Marco Rossi, who previously worked at Daniel’s Miami and brings experience from several Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy.
“Our goal is to provide an authentic Italian dining experience, using the best seasonal ingredients,” said Rossi. “We make our pasta fresh daily and source many products directly from Italy.”
Wine List and Beverage Program
La Sponda’s wine list features selections from regions across Italy, including Tuscany, Piedmont, and Sicily. The beverage program also includes classic Italian cocktails such as Negronis and Aperol Spritzes. The restaurant’s sommelier, Lucia Bianchi, curates pairings to complement the menu’s flavors.
Reservations and Hours
La Sponda is open for dinner service Tuesday through Sunday, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Reservations can be made online or by phone. The restaurant plans to introduce a weekend brunch menu in the coming months.
