Ezon noted that clients are increasingly seeking unique opportunities, such as after-hours museum tours or private meetings with local experts.
This trend is also reflected in the rise of invitation-only travel clubs and members-only resorts. These exclusive offerings often provide access to events, locations, or services unavailable to the general public, further elevating the sense of privilege among members.

The desire for privacy has also grown, with travelers opting for private villas, secluded islands, and chartered transportation. According to Virtuoso, a global network of luxury travel advisors, requests for private accommodations and experiences have surged since 2020. “Privacy is the new luxury,” said Misty Belles, Virtuoso’s vice president of global public relations.
Travelers are also seeking out destinations that limit visitor numbers or offer exclusive access. For example, Bhutan’s high daily tourist fee and strict entry requirements have made it a sought-after destination for those looking for both exclusivity and cultural immersion.
Membership Models and Exclusive Offerings
New business models are emerging to cater to this demand for access. Several companies now offer memberships that guarantee entry to private clubs, curated events, and unique travel experiences. These memberships often come with high fees and strict vetting processes, reinforcing their exclusivity.
Some luxury hotels and resorts have introduced “by invitation only” suites or experiences, available solely to select guests. These offerings may include private dinners with renowned chefs, behind-the-scenes tours, or access to limited-edition events.
