IHG Hotels & Resorts has revealed plans to launch its luxury lifestyle brand, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, in Qatar. This marks the brand’s first appearance in the country, with the opening scheduled for 2026.
Kimpton Doha Set for 2026 Opening
The new property, named Kimpton Doha, will be located in the West Bay area of Doha. The hotel is set to feature 283 guestrooms and suites, along with a selection of dining venues and recreational facilities. According to IHG, the hotel will also offer meeting and event spaces designed to accommodate a range of functions.
Strategic Expansion in the Middle East
IHG stated that the introduction of Kimpton in Qatar aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the Middle East. Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa at IHG, commented, “We are delighted to partner with our esteemed owners to bring the Kimpton brand to Qatar. This opening will further strengthen our presence in the luxury and lifestyle segment in the region.”

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, which originated in the United States, is recognized for its distinctive design and personalized guest experiences. The brand currently operates properties in locations including Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The upcoming Doha property is expected to reflect Kimpton’s signature approach to hospitality and design.
Continued Investment in Qatar’s Hospitality Sector
Qatar’s hospitality market has seen ongoing investment, particularly following the FIFA World Cup 2022. The addition of Kimpton Doha is anticipated to contribute to the country’s growing luxury accommodation offerings.
