The upcoming hotel will be situated within the former Kyoto Central Telephone Office, a building that dates back to 1926 and is designated as a Tangible Cultural Property by the Japanese government.

The Kyoto Central Telephone Office, located in the city’s Nakagyo Ward, will be repurposed to house the new Shangri-La hotel.
