Expansion Milestones in 2023
According to Hilton, the company opened 19 new properties in the Caribbean and Latin America last year, adding more than 4,000 rooms to its regional portfolio. This achievement brought Hilton’s total number of hotels in the area to over 220, spanning 29 countries and territories.
“The Caribbean and Latin America continue to be a key region for Hilton’s growth strategy,” said Juan Corvinos, senior vice president of development, architecture, and construction for Hilton in the Caribbean and Latin America. “Our record-breaking year demonstrates the strength of our brands and the trust our partners place in Hilton.”
Luxury Segment Sees Notable Growth
Hilton reported a significant increase in its luxury hotel pipeline in the region, with more than 10 luxury properties currently under development. The company highlighted the upcoming Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique and the Waldorf Astoria Cancun as examples of its expanding luxury presence.
In addition to the Waldorf Astoria brand, Hilton is also growing its Conrad and LXR Hotels & Resorts brands in the Caribbean and Latin America. The company stated that these developments are part of its broader strategy to meet rising demand for luxury accommodations in these destinations.
Focus on Key Markets and Brand Diversity

The company’s regional expansion also included the launch of new Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton properties, further diversifying its brand offerings in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Future Outlook
Looking ahead, Hilton stated that it remains committed to expanding its presence in the Caribbean and Latin America. The company plans to open more than 30 hotels in the region in 2024, with a focus on both established and emerging markets.
Hilton’s leadership expressed confidence in the continued growth of travel and tourism in the region, citing strong demand for leisure and business travel as key drivers for future development.
