Ground has been broken on a new boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Winter Garden. The project marks a significant development for the area, aiming to provide additional lodging options for visitors and support the city’s growing tourism sector.
The hotel, which will be situated at 123 W. Plant St., is expected to feature 60 guest rooms, a rooftop bar, and a restaurant. Developers anticipate that the property will cater to both leisure and business travelers seeking accommodations within walking distance of downtown attractions.
City officials and project representatives attended a ceremonial groundbreaking event on Monday, June 5. During the ceremony, Winter Garden Mayor John Rees expressed optimism about the hotel’s potential impact on the local economy. “This boutique hotel will be a great addition to our downtown and will help support our businesses and events,” Rees stated.
The development is being led by Winter Garden Hotel Group LLC, which has partnered with a local architecture firm to design the property. According to project leaders, the hotel’s design will incorporate elements that reflect the historic character of downtown Winter Garden while offering modern amenities.
Construction is projected to take approximately 18 months, with the hotel’s opening planned for late 2025. The developers have indicated that the project will create up to 50 construction jobs and, once operational, employ around 40 full-time staff members.
