American Express has expanded its Membership Rewards program by adding a new luxury hotel transfer partner. The addition provides cardholders with another option for redeeming points for high-end travel experiences.
New Transfer Partnership Announced
The company revealed that its Membership Rewards points can now be transferred to the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) Leaders Club loyalty program. This partnership enables American Express customers to convert their points into Leaders Club points, which can be used to book stays at a selection of luxury hotels worldwide.
Details of the Transfer Process
According to American Express, the transfer ratio is set at 1:1, meaning one Membership Rewards point equals one Leaders Club point. Transfers must be made in increments of 1,000 points. Cardholders can initiate the transfer through the American Express Membership Rewards portal.
Leaders Club Program Overview
The Leaders Club loyalty program offers members access to over 400 luxury hotels across more than 80 countries. Benefits include room upgrades, daily continental breakfast for two, and early check-in or late check-out when available. Leaders Club points can be redeemed for complimentary nights at participating properties.
Additional Redemption Options
With this new partnership, American Express Membership Rewards participants have increased flexibility in how they use their points. In addition to transferring to airline and hotel partners, cardholders can now redeem points for stays at luxury hotels within the LHW network.
