IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to launch its luxury lifestyle brand, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, in Qatar. This marks the brand’s first entry into the country.
The new Kimpton property is expected to open in the capital city of Doha. The hotel will be located in the Lusail Marina District, a prominent area known for its modern infrastructure and waterfront views. The project is being developed in partnership with Hospitality for Success H4S Hotels & Residences.
Kimpton Doha will feature 201 guest rooms and suites, along with a range of dining options. The hotel will also offer meeting and event spaces, a spa, and a fitness center. According to IHG, the property aims to provide guests with a distinctive luxury experience that combines Kimpton’s signature approach to hospitality with local influences.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated, “We are excited to debut the Kimpton brand in Qatar, a market that continues to show strong demand for luxury and lifestyle hospitality. This opening will further strengthen our presence in the country and contribute to the growing tourism sector.”
The Kimpton brand, which originated in the United States, is recognized for its personalized service and unique design. IHG has expanded Kimpton’s presence internationally in recent years, with properties in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The new Doha hotel is scheduled to open in 2025. IHG currently operates several brands in Qatar, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn.
