Gayle Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, has purchased a prominent luxury hotel located in downtown New Orleans.
The property, known as the Windsor Court Hotel, is situated in the city’s Central Business District. The acquisition was finalized earlier this week, according to a statement released by Benson’s office.
“We are excited to add the Windsor Court Hotel to our portfolio and remain committed to investing in the city of New Orleans,” Benson said in the announcement. She emphasized her dedication to supporting local businesses and contributing to the region’s economic growth.
The Windsor Court Hotel is recognized for its upscale accommodations and has been a notable destination for visitors to New Orleans since it opened in 1984. The hotel features 316 guest rooms, including 80 suites, and offers amenities such as a rooftop pool, spa, and fine dining options.
Benson’s acquisition of the hotel adds to her existing business interests in the city. In addition to owning the Saints and Pelicans, she is involved in various philanthropic and commercial ventures throughout New Orleans.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The hotel will continue to operate under its current name and management, according to the statement.
