A 19-year-old from Panna district in Madhya Pradesh was reportedly abducted by a former classmate, allegedly motivated by the victim’s social media posts showcasing a ‘luxury lifestyle,’ according to police statements on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when the teenager was taken from his residence in the Kishoreganj area, police officials said. The accused, identified as a 20-year-old who had previously studied with the victim, allegedly orchestrated the abduction with the help of two associates.

Panna Superintendent of Police Dharmraj Meena stated that the investigation revealed the accused had been following the victim’s social media activity, where the latter frequently posted videos depicting a lavish lifestyle. Authorities believe these posts influenced the suspect’s decision to carry out the abduction.
“The accused, along with two accomplices, forcibly took the victim from his home. We are examining the motive, which appears to be linked to the victim’s online presence,” Meena said.
Rescue and Further Action
The police reported that the victim was rescued within hours of the abduction. All three suspects have been apprehended and are currently in custody. The case is being investigated further to determine if additional individuals were involved or if there are other underlying motives.
