The Orient Express Venezia, a newly unveiled hotel in Venice, is redefining the concept of luxury accommodation in the city. This addition to Venice’s hospitality scene is situated along the Grand Canal, offering guests a blend of historical elegance and modern sophistication.
Historic Setting Meets Contemporary Design
Located in a restored 16th-century palazzo, the Orient Express Venezia features interiors that merge classic Venetian architecture with contemporary design elements. The hotel’s restoration was overseen by renowned architect Aline Asmar d’Amman, who aimed to preserve the building’s original features while introducing modern comforts.
“We wanted to honor the heritage of this iconic site while creating a space that feels fresh and inviting,” said d’Amman. The property’s design incorporates traditional Venetian materials such as Murano glass and terrazzo flooring, alongside custom furnishings and curated artwork.
Unparalleled Guest Experience
The Orient Express Venezia offers 45 rooms and suites, many with views of the Grand Canal. Each room is individually decorated, featuring bespoke furniture and luxurious amenities. Guests have access to a private garden, a rarity in Venice, as well as a rooftop terrace that provides panoramic views of the city.
The hotel’s signature restaurant serves a menu inspired by Venetian and Mediterranean cuisine, emphasizing local ingredients. A cocktail bar and a wellness area, including a spa and fitness center, are also available to guests.
Reviving the Spirit of the Orient Express
The Orient Express Venezia is part of the broader revival of the Orient Express brand, which is known for its legendary train journeys across Europe. The hotel aims to capture the glamour and romance associated with the original Orient Express, offering guests an immersive experience that reflects the brand’s storied history.
“Our goal is to transport guests to a different era, where travel was an art form and every detail mattered,” said a spokesperson for the hotel. The property’s design and service philosophy are intended to evoke the spirit of the golden age of travel.
Strategic Location and Accessibility
Situated in the Santa Croce district, the Orient Express Venezia is within walking distance of major attractions such as the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco. The hotel is accessible by private water taxi, and its central location makes it a convenient base for exploring Venice.
