Details of the Retrofit Program
The German carrier revealed that the retrofit will introduce its latest business class product, known as “Allegris,” to the A380. This update will include new seats, improved privacy options, and enhanced in-flight entertainment systems. The airline stated that the first A380 with the upgraded business class is expected to enter service in 2025.
Scope of the Modernization

Passenger Experience Enhancements
According to Lufthansa, the new business class seats will offer direct aisle access, increased privacy, and additional personal space. The airline also highlighted improvements to the in-flight entertainment system and other amenities designed to improve the overall travel experience for business class passengers.
Implementation Timeline
The airline expects the first retrofitted A380 to be operational by the summer of 2025. The remaining aircraft in the fleet will undergo similar upgrades in the following months, with the full retrofit program scheduled for completion by 2026.
Strategic Objectives
Lufthansa emphasized that the A380 retrofit is part of its commitment to providing a consistent and high-quality product across its long-haul network. The airline also noted that the modernization aligns with its broader fleet renewal and sustainability goals.
