Lake County officials have granted a tax incentive to support the development of a new boutique hotel at Bella Collina, a private community located near Montverde. The decision was made during a recent meeting of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners.
The hotel project, proposed by DCS Bella Collina LLC, is expected to feature 126 rooms and will be situated within the Bella Collina community. The development aims to attract visitors to the area and provide additional lodging options for both leisure and business travelers.
As part of the agreement, the county will provide a property tax rebate totaling $1.2 million over a ten-year period. The rebate is contingent on the hotel meeting certain performance benchmarks, including job creation and capital investment requirements. County officials stated that the incentive is designed to encourage economic growth and increase tourism in Lake County.
According to county documents, the hotel is projected to generate approximately 60 new jobs and result in a capital investment of around $30 million. The project is anticipated to contribute to the local economy through increased visitor spending and additional tax revenue.
Commissioners voted unanimously in favor of the tax grant, citing the potential benefits for the region. “This project aligns with our goals for economic development and tourism,” said Commissioner Sean Parks during the meeting.
The Bella Collina boutique hotel is expected to begin construction later this year, with an opening date projected for 2025. Further details about the hotel’s amenities and design have not yet been released by the developer.
