Luxury boutique hotel Rastrello, nestled in the medieval village of Panicale on the border of Umbria and Tuscany, has unveiled its new Garden Annex. This expansion introduces seven additional rooms, a dedicated wellness space, a meditation room, and a small outdoor pool overlooking the picturesque Umbrian countryside and Lake Trasimeno.
Designed by Pelizzari Studio, the Garden Annex transforms a once-abandoned building into a serene retreat, effectively doubling the hotel’s capacity from nine to sixteen rooms. Each spacious suite offers unique designs and lake views, enhancing the guest experience.
The annex features a large guest lounge with panoramic views of the garden and lake, providing a perfect setting for breakfast, aperitivo, or relaxation. This space is also available for private dinners or intimate weddings of up to 40 guests. Guests can enjoy complimentary house wines, craft beers, and small bites during aperitivo hours, as well as a selection of farm-infused teas throughout the day.
The wellness area includes a sauna, shower, and lounge chairs, offering various treatments and Signature Rituals. Notably, Rastrello has partnered with COSMOSS by Kate Moss, becoming the first hotel in Italy to exclusively offer the brand’s signature treatments. For added privacy, guests can reserve the wellness space in hourly intervals.
The garden boasts a deck with a dipping pool, lounge chairs, and tables, allowing guests to enjoy breakfast outdoors while taking in the stunning lake views. A gate connects the guest garden to the main property, enabling seamless movement between the two areas.
Rastrello’s farm-to-table restaurant, Cucina & Giardino, led by regional chef Nicola Fanfano, offers a panoramic garden terrace and an intimate indoor space. The restaurant utilizes produce from its organic gardens and sources grains, wines, cheeses, charcuterie, spirits, and sodas from local suppliers, emphasizing sustainability and regional flavors.
