Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews has drawn attention not only for his performance on the ice but also for his reported real estate holdings. As speculation continues regarding his future with the team, Matthews’ living arrangements in Toronto and Arizona have become a topic of interest among fans and observers.
Toronto Penthouse Reportedly Owned by Matthews
Matthews is said to reside in a luxury penthouse located in downtown Toronto. The property, reportedly purchased in 2021, is situated in the city’s Yorkville neighborhood. The penthouse is described as having expansive views of the Toronto skyline, high-end finishes, and amenities such as a private elevator and rooftop terrace. The reported value of the property is estimated at $3.2 million.
According to real estate listings, the penthouse features three bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an open-concept living space. The building offers residents access to a fitness center, concierge services, and secure parking. Matthews’ choice of residence places him in proximity to Scotiabank Arena, the Maple Leafs’ home venue.
Arizona Estate: Matthews’ Off-Season Retreat
In addition to his Toronto home, Matthews reportedly owns an estate in Arizona. The property is located in Scottsdale, not far from where he grew up. The Arizona residence is said to include a swimming pool, spacious outdoor living areas, and a modern interior design. The estate serves as Matthews’ primary residence during the NHL off-season.
Local reports indicate that Matthews spends significant time in Arizona with family and friends when not in Toronto for the hockey season. The property’s privacy and amenities are cited as key reasons for his preference for the location during the summer months.
Uncertainty Surrounding Matthews’ Long-Term Plans
As Matthews’ contract with the Maple Leafs continues to be a subject of discussion, questions remain about where the star forward will call home in the future. While he is under contract with Toronto through the 2025-26 NHL season, speculation persists regarding his long-term intentions both on and off the ice.
