Authorities in Crete have arrested four people during a drug raid conducted at a high-end hotel on the island, according to statements released on Thursday.
The police operation took place late Wednesday evening at a luxury hotel located in the region of Hersonissos, near the city of Heraklion. Law enforcement officials reported that the suspects, all foreign nationals, were found in possession of significant quantities of illegal substances.
During the search, officers confiscated approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, along with smaller amounts of cannabis and ecstasy tablets. In addition to the drugs, police seized a substantial sum of cash, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking activities.
The four individuals arrested are expected to appear before a prosecutor in Heraklion. Police investigations are ongoing to determine whether the suspects are linked to a broader criminal network operating within Greece or internationally.
Further details on the identities of the suspects and the exact circumstances of the operation have not been disclosed by authorities at this stage.
