Accor has named Kara Randall as its new Vice President of Development for Luxury Hotels in North and Central America. Randall, who previously held a senior development position at Hilton, will oversee the expansion of Accor’s luxury brands in the region.
Randall’s Background and New Responsibilities
Before joining Accor, Randall served as Vice President of Development for Luxury and Lifestyle Americas at Hilton. In her new role, she will focus on growing Accor’s luxury portfolio, which includes brands such as Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, and Orient Express, across North and Central America.
Randall will be based in New York and report directly to Agnès Roquefort, Accor’s Chief Development Officer for Luxury & Lifestyle. She brings over 20 years of experience in hotel development and real estate to the position.
Accor’s Strategic Expansion
Accor has stated that Randall’s appointment is part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the luxury segment within the Americas. The company currently operates more than 430 hotels in North and Central America, with plans to expand its luxury offerings in key markets.
“Kara’s deep expertise in luxury hospitality and her proven track record in development will be instrumental as we accelerate our growth in the region,” said Agnès Roquefort in a statement.
Industry Context
The luxury hotel sector in North and Central America has seen increased competition among global hospitality groups. Accor’s move to bring in Randall is seen as an effort to bolster its position and capture new opportunities in the market.
