Bora Bora’s InterContinental to Reopen as a Regent in 2027

IHG Hotels & Resorts has revealed that the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa will undergo a comprehensive transformation before reopening under the Regent Hotels & Resorts brand. The resort, located on Motu Piti Aau, is set to close in early 2026 to begin the renovation work.

The planned refurbishment will include upgrades to all 84 overwater villas, enhancements to the resort’s dining venues, and improvements to the spa and wellness facilities. The project aims to elevate the property to Regent’s luxury standards while maintaining its distinctive Polynesian character.
