Aman, a global luxury hotel brand, is set to establish its presence in Seoul through a collaboration with South Korean retail giant Shinsegae, as competition in the city’s high-end hospitality sector continues to grow.
New Aman Property Planned for Seoul
On Thursday, Shinsegae Group announced that it had signed an agreement with Aman Group to open an Aman hotel in Seoul. The planned property will be located in the city’s affluent Gangnam district, with an anticipated opening date in 2026.
The hotel will be developed on land currently owned by Shinsegae, adjacent to the company’s existing luxury department store and the JW Marriott Hotel Seoul. According to Shinsegae, the new Aman hotel will feature approximately 80 guest rooms and suites, as well as branded residences, restaurants, and wellness facilities.
Growing Competition in Seoul’s Luxury Hotel Segment
The entry of Aman into Seoul comes as the city’s luxury hotel market becomes increasingly competitive. Several international hotel brands have recently expanded their presence in the South Korean capital, including Four Seasons, Signiel, and Josun Palace. The addition of Aman is expected to further elevate Seoul’s status as a destination for high-end travelers.

Aman currently operates more than 30 hotels and resorts worldwide, with properties in locations such as Tokyo, New York, and Venice. The brand is known for its exclusive, design-focused accommodations and personalized service.
