The PuLi Hotel and Spa in Shanghai has completed an extensive renovation, introducing a refreshed approach to luxury hospitality in the city. Located in the Jing’an district, the property now features redesigned guest rooms, updated public areas, and enhanced dining options, all aimed at providing a tranquil and understated experience for guests.
Redesigned Interiors and Guest Experience
The PuLi’s recent transformation includes a complete overhaul of its 193 rooms and 36 suites. The new interiors emphasize natural materials, soft lighting, and muted color palettes, creating a calm atmosphere throughout the hotel. According to hotel representatives, the design aims to blend contemporary comfort with traditional Chinese elements, offering guests a sense of serenity in the heart of Shanghai.
Public spaces such as the lobby and lounge have also been updated. The hotel’s signature Long Bar, which extends 32 meters, now features new seating and lighting, maintaining its reputation as a popular gathering spot for both visitors and locals.
Enhanced Culinary Offerings
The PuLi’s dining venues have undergone significant changes as part of the renovation. PHÉNIX, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, presents a new menu focused on seasonal ingredients and modern French cuisine. The restaurant’s refreshed interiors are designed to complement the culinary experience, with views overlooking Jing’an Park.
In addition to PHÉNIX, the hotel’s Garden Terrace has been updated to provide a more relaxed setting for afternoon tea and casual dining. The terrace now features additional greenery and outdoor seating, allowing guests to enjoy the surrounding landscape.
Commitment to Sustainability and Wellbeing
The renovation project also introduced several sustainability initiatives. The hotel has implemented energy-efficient lighting, eco-friendly amenities, and water-saving fixtures throughout its facilities. The PuLi’s spa and wellness center has expanded its range of treatments, focusing on holistic therapies and personalized wellness programs for guests.
Maintaining a Distinct Identity
Since its opening in 2009, The PuLi has been recognized for its blend of urban sophistication and tranquil design. The recent updates are intended to reinforce the hotel’s position as a leader in Shanghai’s luxury hospitality sector while preserving its unique character.
