In the Upper East Side, a new residential development is combining upscale living with a focus on contemporary art. The project, located at 200 East 83rd Street, features a curated collection of artworks displayed throughout the building’s public spaces.
The 35-story tower, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, offers 86 residences. The interiors were crafted by Rottet Studio, known for their attention to detail and elegant finishes. Residents have access to a range of amenities, including a 70-foot indoor pool, a private cinema, and a landscaped rooftop terrace with panoramic city views.
Art plays a central role in the building’s design. The lobby and amenity areas showcase works by both established and emerging artists. Pieces were selected in collaboration with the consulting firm Winston Art Group, with the aim of creating an environment that reflects the vibrancy of the city’s art scene.
“We wanted to create a space that feels both sophisticated and welcoming, where art is an integral part of the experience,” said Nancy Winston, founder of Winston Art Group. According to Winston, the collection includes paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media installations that complement the building’s architecture and interior design.
The development’s location on the Upper East Side places it near several major cultural institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. This proximity influenced the decision to emphasize art within the building, according to the development team.
Residences at 200 East 83rd Street range from two to five bedrooms, with prices starting at $2.5 million. Sales launched in late 2023, and the building is expected to welcome its first residents in the coming months.
