L Catterton, a global private equity firm, has announced the acquisition of two luxury hotels located in France and Portugal. The company revealed the purchase of Les Prés d’Eugénie in southwestern France and Herdade da Malhadinha Nova in the Alentejo region of Portugal.
Les Prés d’Eugénie, situated in Eugénie-les-Bains, is a renowned five-star hotel and spa. The property is recognized for its Michelin-starred restaurant and its association with chef Michel Guérard. Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, located in Portugal’s Alentejo region, is a boutique hotel set on a wine estate, offering guests a combination of hospitality, gastronomy, and wine experiences.
L Catterton stated that these acquisitions are part of its ongoing strategy to expand its presence in the luxury hospitality sector. The firm indicated that both properties will continue to operate under their current management teams, maintaining their established standards and guest experiences.
The company did not disclose the financial terms of the transactions. L Catterton’s hospitality portfolio includes several other luxury brands and properties worldwide.
